This image was made on our penultimate night on Harris. We'd had a brilliant day up in Lewis at Callanish, Mangurstadh and Uig. A perfect spring day. Apart from managing to leave my camera in a lay-by just north of Tarbert that is....I'd been distracted. We'd just driven up the amazing road through the North Harris Hills belting out Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower and stopped to take in the view. Luckily we stopped just out side Tarbert to take another picture of the hillside ablaze with muirburn and I realised I'd left the camera behind. I panicked. Raced back up the windy road and there it was...my wee camera all on its own, just sitting there! So relieved!
Anyway...it was those fires which caused me to stop which gave the smoky ambiance to this image, my image of the month for April!
